Hemp and Pear Teacake

This winter is all about feeling cozy, more specifically evoking the feeling of hygge. Unsure of what hygge means? Our recent blog explains all the details. 

Either way, this teacake will have you feeling happy and warm from the inside out!

- ½ cup almond meal
- ½ cup gluten-free self raising flour
- ⅔ coconut sugar
- ¼ cup Hemp Balance (or Hemp Boost)
- ¼ cup of Hemp Seeds
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder 
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup oat milk (or milk of your choice)
- 2 pears


  1. Set the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Peel the two pears and thinly slice them into small pieces. 
  3. In a bowl add the sliced pears, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1 Tbsp of lemon juice, 2 Tbsp coconut sugar and ¼ cup of Hemp Seeds. Stir together and set aside. 
  4. In a separate bowl add all the dry ingredients (almond meal, flour, the rest of the coconut sugar and cinnamon, Hemp Balance, salt and baking powder) and stir to combine. 
  5. Make a hole in the middle of the dry ingredients and place the wet ingredients (1 Tbsp lemon juice, eggs and milk). Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy. 
  6. Add the mixture to a cake tin and in a circle formation, layer the slices of pear on top of the cake. 
  7. Bake for 45 minutes and serve whilst warm!
