Butt Naked Body has recently launched a Hemp & Rosemary Scrub to join their amazing collection of natural, cruelty-free scrubs. To celebrate the launch of this product, we interviewed Director, Patrizia to learn more about the company and this new product.

Could you tell us a little bit more about the company?
Butt Naked was founded with the mission to provide Australian made body care products that don’t hurt our furry friends. I am incredibly proud that the company is 100% Australian owned and cruelty-free, with all our products made in Melbourne.

Butt Naked also closely support the Save A Dog Scheme, by donating 5% of profits to the organization. We hope by creating beautiful, natural, vegan scrubs we can bring transparency to the cosmetic industry as well as making a difference to our furry friends in shelters.

What makes Butt Naked Body so unique and different to the other skincare companies out there?
Our strong values and transparent business model really set us apart from our competitors. We believe that humans (and animals!) were born naturally awesome + beautiful, so our body care range was designed around simple, natural ingredients that enrich the skin. We leave all the nasty chemicals out and don’t agree with animal testing, I think this is what makes us so special.

We aim to keep it simple and keep it clean.

Why did you decide to add hemp as an ingredient in your scrubs?
I am always on the look-out for new ingredients to add to our products and after hearing all the fuss about hemp, I decided to do a bit of research. Hemp is a great natural way to hydrate, soothe and help prevent anti-ageing to your skin, for this reason, we decided to introduce it as an ingredient in our body care range.

After the success of our first hemp-based product, a Hemp Clay Mask, we decided to expand on this and introduce it to our scrub range.

What are the benefits of using your Hemp & Rosemary Scrub?
Our new Hemp and Rosemary Scrub is perfect for dry skin types as the ingredients are not only a great exfoliant but they naturally hydrate the skin at the same time.

While Hemp's omega profile works wonders in hydrating the skin and acting as a natural anti-inflammatory, its amino acid content also boosts collagen production which can aid in maintaining your skin’s elasticity.

Rosemary Oil, on the other hand, is a natural antibacterial which helps in improving memory and boosting skin circulation. This can lead to a fading of stretch marks and a lowering of cellulite formation.

The Hemp and Rosemary scrub also contains Almond Oil and Olive Oil. We added Almond Oil because it is hypoallergenic and it works deep into the skin, softening and removing dirt and debris from our pores, which helps prevent blackheads and breakouts. It also has a great Vitamin A profile, which is known to reduce acne flare-ups.

Olive Oil pairs well with these ingredients as it protects your skin from premature ageing, whilst promoting smoothness and fights against free radicals!
